Until recently\, the only ethnic foods to make a significant impact in America were Italian and Chinese. While Italian food has replaced French at the top of the fine dining hierarchy\, Chinese continues to be popular\, especially in New York City. It’s not a coincidence that Chinatown and Little Italy sit side by side in Lower Manhattan. This is one of the places the Chinese and Italians first settled. Because their food continues to be popular\, their neighborhoods have been able to survive into the 21st century. \nChinatown is a tremendous place to sample some of the best food NYC has to offer. Bring a hearty appetite. There will be plenty to see\, smell\, taste and bring home. Spend the day with eminent musician\, food enthusiast\, TV host and traveler Rick Bedrosian as he guides you through the small winding streets\, peculiar alleys\, historic sites\, old world restaurants and specialty shops that are abundant in Chinatown.
