NYC Food Tour: Chinatown/Little Italy, Saturday, April 20, 2019

April 20, 2019 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 pm

ONE SEAT LEFT! “Ethnic Cuisine” has a fascinating history in the Untied States. With the exception of German mainstays such as frankfurters, hamburgers, coffee cake, pickles, ketchup and lager beer, America was slow to embrace fare brought here by the millions of immigrants entering the USA in the 18th and 19th centuries. Until recently, the only ethnic foods to make a significant impact in America were Italian and Chinese. While Italian food has replaced French at the top of the fine dining hierarchy, Chinese continues to be popular, especially in New York City. It’s not a coincidence that Chinatown and Little Italy sit side by side in Lower Manhattan. This is one of the places the Chinese and Italians first settled. Because their food continues to be popular, their neighborhoods have been able to survive into the 21st century.

Chinatown and Little Italy are tremendous places to sample some of the best food NYC has to offer. Bring a hearty appetite. There will be plenty to see, smell, taste and bring home. Spend the day with eminent musician, food enthusiast, TV host and traveler Rick Bedrosian as he guides you through the small winding streets, peculiar alleys, historic sites, old world restaurants and specialty shops that are abundant in Chinatown. Rick has eaten his way through Chinatown and Little Italy dozens of times, constantly seeking out the finest fare Chinatown has to offer. He’s discovered some pretty significant landmarks in and around Chinatown including Five Points, Kimlau Square, the Manhattan Bridge, Columbus Park, Cooper Union, CBGB site, “Law and Order” and “Blue Bloods” filming locations and The NYPD Tombs.

Be prepared to taste some remarkable food and see some outstanding sights between bites. Price includes food, transportation and guide (Rick) throughout the tour.
