If you like adventure and you love to eat, you won’t want to miss this exciting trip which is taking place on Saturday, October 21st. QUEENS IS THE PLACE TO BE FOR FOODIES!!! This fully guided tour includes round trip transportation from Albany to New York City, lots of fantastic food at at least 6 locations and all subway fares. We will be getting on and off the subway many times. I’ve been researching this tour for more than a year and it’s really tremendous. $175 may seem steep but believe me, it’s not for this tour. This particular RB Food Tour is a labor of love. In fact, there’s a very good chance that I may not even break even on it! Vegetarians and non-spicy food enthusiasts will have plenty to eat too. Don’t wait too long to reserve your seats.
Queens is an enormous (and vastly under appreciated) New York City borough, teeming with ethnic diversity. Unlike Brooklyn (their chic neighbor to the south), Queens has not yet been invaded by hipster hordes and busloads of mainstream tourists. As Himalayans, Peruvians, Tibetans, Colombians, Spaniards, Turks, Paraguayans, Koreans, Chinese, Mexicans, Italians, Irish, Jews and Japanese moved into tidy and affordable neighborhoods such as Astoria, Elmhurst, Long Island City, Forest Hills, Corona, Sunnyside, Woodside, Jackson Heights and Flushing, grocery stores and restaurants showcasing their native products appeared, giving these immigrants an opportunity to consume the comfort foods from their native lands. Their bountiful presence has made Queens the real Epcot World Showcase!
Explore the gastronomical wonders of Queens, NY with globe trotter and bon vivant Rick Bedrosian, leader of the world renowned Celtic-Rock band, Hair Of The Dog and portrayer of George Harrison in the popular Beatles Tribute show, Hey Jude. Rick has been to Queens dozens of times and he’s racked up a long list of dynamite dining destinations. Your walking tour includes round trip transportation from the Capital District to NYC, a personal guide (Rick) throughout the tour, all NY Subway rides (we’ll be getting on and off quite a few times) and delicious and diverse food at at least 6 different locations. Many vegetarian options are available. Drinks are at your own expense. You will not go home hungry!
The tour departs Albany, NY at 7am and returns around 10pm. You can leave your vehicle in Albany and there is no charge to park. The cost of the tour is $175 per person. These tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people so don’t wait too long to register. The Tour takes place rain or shine. Bring an umbrella if the forecast is dicey. You must be at least 16 years of age and in good physical condition as this is a walking tour. Those under 21 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended.
